Christmas Party & Bowling

Bring your lunch (peanut free), to Bayridge Alliance Church next Friday, Nov. 18 at 11:30 AM.
Please come through the small back door beside the big garage doors to the gym.
We will play team games, eat together, decorate cupcakes and be at Prost for bowling at 1PM.
Prost was booked for Thursday, Nov. 17, and Tamara is working on Friday, so please RSVP to

We have four lanes booked. The cost is $7 per person for two games including shoes.

Corn Maze Time Again!

It’s time for our annual trek to the Corn Maze at Fruition Berry Farm! We have booked Friday October, 21st with a rain date of Friday, October 28th. Cost is $3 per child. We will meet at the farm at 11:00 a.m., dress appropriate for the weather and rain boots are highly recommended if it’s been wet at all.

Apple Picking NEW DATE!

A slight change to the schedule from our meeting.. we will be going apple picking Thursday, October 6th at Wynn Farms. Please see info below on where it is. It takes about 30 min to get to from the Bayridge area. We will be meeting there at 10:30am.

Take Bath Road out of Kingston. Wynn Farm is past the Generating Station on the right side of the highway. They are one of the first apple farms you come to and they have a large sign.

Primitive Arts Day!

A reminder that the Primitive Arts Day is coming up on June 16th. We will be heading up to the Sharbot Lake area and having a day in the woods with Dave Young. Dress for the weather, bring a lunch, don't forget your sunblock and your bug spray! Start time up north is 10am and we will go to approx. 3pm.

Track and Field Practice

We will be starting our Track & Field practice on May 3rd. Practices will be Tuesday and Thursday mornings for the month of May. We will meet at 8:30am at Bayridge Secondary School, look for us at the pits doing warm-up stretches!

Fort Henry & Stirling Theatre

Diane has organized an experiential day at Fort Henry.

The trip to Fort Henry will be May 27th. The cost is $15/child and is open to Grade 3 and up. The money will be due to Diane by Wednesday April 20th.

Participants will be meeting in the parking lot at Fort Henry where we can organize everyone. Please send kids in weather appropriate clothing and don't forget to send them with a container of water!

The Winter Panto at the Stirling Theatre will be a production of "Puss in Boots". We will be attending the November 17 performance. If you would like tickets to this event please contact Brenda at kchecinfo@gmail.com. The tickets will be $9.50/ person and the money will be due at our May meeting on the 2nd.

Swimming 2011

Just a reminder that swimming lessons start this week. Wednesday April 6th from 3-4pm. Please keep your children in the change room until the class using the pool before us is finished.

Cost is $58/child due at the first lesson.

Track & Field 2010

This years Track & Field day will be JUNE 3rd.

Cost is $5 per child.

Forms & money are due to Betty Marshall by May 23rd.

The event is being held at Quinte Mohawk Public School, 1624 York Road, Deseronto, ON.

The group is practicing every Monday and Thursday morning at 8:15am. We meet at the track between Bayridge Public and Bayridge Secondary Schools.

Swimming, swimming, in a swimming pool

OK...it's time to register.

Yes, it starts early in April, and we need to know how many children will be enrolled in the Red Cross swimming lessons.

Cost tentatively, is $55 per child. Unless you child has completed the 10th level, and wants to join the Jr. Lifeguarding course.

March Break Stirling Theatre Production

The Stirling Festival Theatre presents The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon.
Day Camp Matinee performances will be held March 15, 16, 17 and 19 at 2 P.M.

See what happens when two storytellers try to combine all the favourite fairy tales into one show! Everyone will enjoy this comedy for kids, about kids, by kids as presented by the Stirling Theatre Young Company. The production is approximately 60 minutes with an intermission and is recommended for children ages 6 and up. The day camp price per ticket is $7.50 (adults and children same price.)

If you are interested in attending, please contact me Brenda IMMEDIATELY so she can try to get a consensus on the date for KCHEC tickets. We need to act quickly...and it may take some back and forth to get things organized. The tickets will not be sent to us until Stirling receives payment...so...this requires your immediate attention. We serve the needs of homeschooling families in the Kingston, Ontario area as a place to meet together, talk about homeschooling and find out what other families are doing. Generally we meet once a month, first Monday of the month, at Smitty's Restaurant on Princess Street (in the Chapters plaza). People start coming at 7:30 PM to socialize, the business portion of the meeting starts at 8:00 PM. We discuss outings, upcoming special events of interest and we share information about curriculum. Everyone is welcome to attend.
